Key Responsibilities for the Electrical Cable Specialist

• Design & Analysis: Develop and meticulously analyze HV/EHV cable systems, conducting intricate electrical and mechanical calculations to ensure peak performance and unwavering safety. Select appropriate materials for robust and durable cable construction.
• Compliance & Documentation: Guarantee that all designs strictly adhere to international standards, including IEEE, IEC, and ICEA. Accurately prepare and manage comprehensive technical documentation, data sheets, and Bills of Materials.
• Collaboration & Support: Foster close collaboration with manufacturing teams to translate designs into tangible, high-quality products. Provide expert technical guidance and support to sales, marketing departments, and clients. Assist effectively with tender submissions and proposal development.
• Testing & Innovation: Supervise and guide cable testing procedures, actively contributing to and leading research and development projects focused on pioneering next-generation cable solutions.
• Software & Tools Proficiency: Leverage industry-leading design software such as CYMCAP, Comsol Multiphysics, and AutoCAD, alongside the MS Office suite, to achieve and deliver exceptional engineering outcomes.

Qualifications for a Power Systems Engineer

• Minimum 10 years of experience as an Electrical Cable Design Engineer, with a strong focus on High Voltage (HV) and Extra High Voltage (EHV) systems.
• Proven experience in designing and specifying HV/EHV cable systems.
• In-depth knowledge of international standards (IEEE, IEC, ICEA).
• Proficiency in industry-standard design software (CYMCAP, Comsol Multiphysics, AutoCAD).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
