Data Analyst – UNICEF Algeria | Immediate Hiring

UNICEF is seeking a qualified Data Analyst to join its team in Algeria. About the Role

As a Data Analyst (also referred to as a Data Specialist, Information Analyst, or Monitoring & Evaluation Data Officer), you will be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing data that directly informs UNICEF's child-focused initiatives in Algeria. This is a high-impact position within the international development and humanitarian sector, offering the chance to contribute meaningfully to children's well-being at a national scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and manage large datasets from multiple programme sources to ensure data integrity and reliability.
• Perform quantitative and qualitative data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and key indicators related to child welfare programmes.
• Design and maintain dashboards, visualizations, and automated reports for internal stakeholders and programme managers.
• Support the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) framework by providing timely and accurate data for programme reviews and donor reporting.
• Collaborate with field offices and programme specialists to define data needs, indicators, and collection methodologies.
• Conduct statistical analyses including regression, correlation, and impact evaluation to assess programme effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with UNICEF's data governance, privacy, and ethical standards in all data handling processes.
• Prepare analytical briefs, presentations, and data summaries for senior management and external partners.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science, Public Policy, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of professional experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a similar analytical role.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel (advanced), SQL, Python, R, or SPSS.
• Experience with data visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of database management, data cleaning techniques, and ETL processes.
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Fluency in English and French is required; knowledge of Arabic is a strong asset.
• Experience working with international organizations, NGOs, or UN agencies is highly desirable.
