Alternant Data Engineer (Big Data et Environnement Industriel) H/F - Fontenay-sous-Bois

We are seeking a motivated Alternant Data Engineer to join our team in an apprenticeship capacity, focusing on Big Data technologies within an industrial environment. This role is based in Fontenay-sous-Bois, Île-de-France, and offers a unique opportunity to develop hands-on technical skills while earning your degree.

About the Role

As an Apprentice Data Engineer, you will work alongside experienced engineers and data professionals to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and infrastructure. You will be immersed in real-world industrial data challenges, gaining practical experience in Big Data processing, ETL development, data warehousing, and cloud-based data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for large-scale industrial datasets
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT processes to ensure reliable data ingestion and transformation
• Work with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and related frameworks
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, and industrial engineers
• Support the development of data models and data warehouse architectures
• Monitor data quality, performance, and reliability across all data systems
• Participate in the deployment and management of data solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Document technical processes, data flows, and system architectures
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the data engineering team

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
• Strong foundation in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
• Familiarity with SQL and relational database systems (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)
• Basic understanding of Big Data ecosystems (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Kafka)
• Knowledge of data modeling concepts and data warehousing principles
• Exposure to cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is a plus
• Understanding of version control systems such as Git
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills in French; proficiency in English is an advantage
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced industrial environment
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies
