Process & Innovation Specialist - Finance

The Process & Innovation Specialist drives process excellence, standardization, automation, and continuous improvement across finance operations. This role acts as a strategic partner to finance leadership, identifying inefficiencies, designing optimized workflows, and implementing innovative solutions that enhance accuracy, speed, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze end-to-end finance processes including procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, record-to-report, and financial planning & analysis.
• Lead process mapping, gap analysis, and root cause identification for manual, repetitive, or error-prone activities.
• Design and implement process automation using RPA, workflow tools, ERP enhancements (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics), and low-code platforms.
• Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs), process controls, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure efficiency, cycle time, and quality.
• Champion continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen) to drive cost reduction and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with IT, internal audit, compliance, and business units to ensure solutions meet regulatory requirements (SOX, IFRS, local GAAP) and data integrity standards.
• Manage change management initiatives: stakeholder communication, training programs, and adoption tracking for new processes and technologies.
• Evaluate emerging technologies (AI/ML for anomaly detection, predictive analytics, blockchain for reconciliation) and build business cases for pilot projects.
• Prepare and present dashboards, scorecards, and executive reports on process health, automation ROI, and improvement pipeline.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field; MBA or professional certification (CPA, CMA, CIA, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt) preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in finance transformation, process improvement, management consulting, or shared services / GBS environment.
• Proven track record delivering finance automation projects (RPA, OCR, workflow automation) with measurable ROI.
• Deep knowledge of finance sub-processes: general ledger, fixed assets, intercompany, tax, treasury, and statutory reporting.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, or Alteryx for data-driven process diagnostics.
• Expertise in ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Cloud, Microsoft D365) and process mining tools (Celonis, Signavio, UiPath Process Mining).
• Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills; ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Fluent in English; Arabic language proficiency is a strong advantage for Egypt-based role.
