Senior Tendering Engineer – MV & LV Systems / Solution

Role Overview

Join Siemens Smart Infrastructure as a Senior Tendering Engineer specializing in Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) Systems and Solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end tendering process for MV & LV switchgear, substations, distribution automation, and smart grid solutions.
• Analyze tender documents, specifications, and client requirements to define technical scope and commercial strategy.
• Prepare detailed technical proposals, including single‑line diagrams, equipment sizing, protection coordination, and system architecture.
• Perform cost estimation and pricing for MV/LV equipment, engineering services, installation, and commissioning.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders — product management, R&D, supply chain, and legal — to ensure compliant and competitive bids.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans for technical, commercial, and schedule risks.
• Support pre‑bid meetings, site visits, and client clarifications; present technical solutions to customers.
• Ensure all tenders comply with IEC, IEEE, and local Egyptian standards (Egyptian Code for Electrical Installations).
• Maintain and update tendering tools, databases, and knowledge repositories for continuous improvement.
• Mentor junior tendering engineers and share best practices across the team.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in tendering, bid management, or proposal engineering for MV/LV power distribution projects.
• Proven track record of winning tenders for utility, industrial, or infrastructure clients in Egypt or MENA region.
• Deep technical knowledge of MV switchgear (up to 36 kV), LV distribution boards, protection relays, SCADA, and substation automation.
• Proficiency in tendering software, ERP systems (SAP preferred), and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong command of English and Arabic (written and verbal).
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.

Preferred Skills

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or MBA.
• Certification in Project Management (PMP) or Tendering/Bid Management (APMP).
• Experience with Siemens portfolio (SIVACON, SICAM, SIPROTEC, 8DJH, NXPLUS C).
• Familiarity with digital twin, IoT, and energy management solutions for smart infrastructure.
• Knowledge of Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) and distribution company tendering procedures.
• Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
