MPS Engineer – Master Production Scheduling & Production Planning Engineer in Egypt

About the Role

The MPS Engineer is responsible for managing the weekly Master Production Schedule (MPS) in line with plant capacity, sales forecasts, and inventory targets. This role directly supports efficient production execution, on-time delivery, and optimal inventory levels for finished goods down to the component and sub-assembly level.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and manage the weekly MPS to balance customer demand with plant capacity.
• Convert the sales forecast into a realistic and executable production plan.
• Monitor and optimize inventory levels for finished goods, WIP, and raw materials.
• Coordinate with production, procurement, logistics, and sales teams to resolve scheduling conflicts and prioritize orders.
• Analyze capacity utilization and recommend adjustments to improve efficiency and meet delivery commitments.
• Track MPS performance, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
• Support demand planning, S&OP, and MRP activities with accurate scheduling data.
• Prepare production planning reports and present key insights to management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering — Industrial, Mechanical, Production, or a related discipline.
• Experience in production planning, MPS, S&OP, or supply chain planning within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of capacity planning, inventory control, and forecasting.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
• Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight production deadlines.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination skills.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
• Experience in FMCG, automotive, or electronics manufacturing.
• Familiarity with SAP APO, Oracle ASCP, or similar advanced planning tools.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.
