Digital & AI Section Head | Internal Business Applications & AI Strategy Lead

About the Role

We are seeking a visionary Digital & AI Section Head to lead our in-house digital development function. This role owns the end-to-end strategy, delivery, and lifecycle management of the company's internal business applications, driving digital transformation and AI integration across the organization.

Core Responsibilities

• Define and execute the digital and AI strategy for internal business applications, aligning with corporate objectives.
• Lead the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) for in-house solutions: requirements gathering, architecture, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Manage a team of developers, data scientists, and AI engineers; foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the integration of AI/ML capabilities into existing and new internal systems to enhance automation, analytics, and decision-making.
• Ensure scalability, security, and performance of all digital platforms; implement best practices in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and data governance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (IT, Operations, Finance, HR) to identify digital opportunities and deliver measurable business value.
• Manage vendor relationships and evaluate third-party solutions vs. build decisions.
• Establish KPIs and metrics to track digital initiative ROI, adoption rates, and system reliability.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in software development, digital transformation, or AI/ML leadership roles.
• Proven track record of leading in-house development teams and delivering complex internal business applications (ERP, CRM, HRIS, custom platforms).
• Deep expertise in modern tech stacks: cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), microservices, APIs, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong background in AI/ML: model development, deployment (MLOps), natural language processing, computer vision, or predictive analytics.
• Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman) and agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Certifications: AWS/Azure/GCP Architect, PMP, CSM, or AI/ML specializations.
• Experience in the Egyptian market or MENA region regulatory environment.
• Background in low-code/no-code platforms, RPA, or process mining.
• Published research or thought leadership in applied AI for enterprise.
