Senior System Administrator – Capital City IT Operations

About the Role

DecisionPoint is seeking an experienced Senior System Administrator to lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of its global IT infrastructure. Based in the capital city, the role supports critical business applications, ensures high‑availability of servers, and drives continuous improvement of operational processes.

Key Responsibilities

• System Management: Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers, virtual machines, and cloud environments.
• Network Operations: Oversee network devices, firewalls, VPNs, and ensure secure connectivity across multiple sites.
• Performance Monitoring: Implement monitoring tools, analyze system logs, and proactively resolve performance issues.
• Security & Compliance: Apply patches, manage access controls, and enforce security policies in line with industry standards.
• Incident Response: Lead troubleshooting efforts, coordinate with support teams, and document resolutions.
• Automation & Scripting: Develop PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripts to automate routine tasks and improve efficiency.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate system documentation, runbooks, and configuration records.
• Project Collaboration: Work with architects, developers, and vendors on infrastructure projects and migrations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands‑on system administration experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux (RHEL/CentOS), virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Proficiency with networking concepts, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and firewall management.
• Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds) and configuration management (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
• Solid scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Understanding of security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST) and patch management processes.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and strong communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Red Hat Certified Engineer, or Cisco CCNA.
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Background in supporting global, multi‑site operations.
