Temporary IT Administrator – 5‑Month Contract – Capital City

About the Role

This temporary position supports the organization’s IT infrastructure for a 5‑month contract in the capital city. The IT Administrator ensures hardware, operating systems, and network components operate reliably, enabling business continuity and user productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Hardware & Operating Systems: Install, configure, and maintain servers, desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.
• Network Management: Perform routing and switching tasks using command‑line tools on enterprise hardware families such as Cisco Catalyst/Nexus and Aruba.
• System Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware, OS, and network issues promptly.
• Security & Updates: Apply patches, manage antivirus solutions, and enforce security policies.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of configurations, incidents, and resolutions.
• Collaboration: Work with cross‑functional teams to support project deployments and user requests.

Requirements

• Proven experience with hardware installation, maintenance, and operating system administration.
• Hands‑on command‑line expertise in routing and switching on Cisco Catalyst/Nexus, Aruba, or similar enterprise platforms.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently under a short‑term contract.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to document technical procedures.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+) are a plus.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V).
• Familiarity with scripting for automation (PowerShell, Bash).
• Knowledge of ITIL best practices.
