Senior Offshore Operations Engineer – Musandam, Oman

About the Role

OQEP is seeking a highly skilled Senior Offshore Operations Engineer to join the Operated Assets / Musandam Cluster team. This role is responsible for overseeing daily offshore operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards at the offshore platform and MGP Plant in Musandam, Oman. The position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic offshore environment, contributing to the region's energy production.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate offshore operations, including production, maintenance, and logistics activities.
• Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and company policies, conducting risk assessments and safety audits.
• Optimize operational processes to maximize uptime and production efficiency.
• Manage offshore teams, including shift planning, training, and performance monitoring.
• Liaise with onshore support teams to ensure seamless integration of resources and materials.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production, safety, and cost.
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Participate in the development of operational procedures and emergency response plans.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, or related field).
• Experience: Minimum 8–10 years of experience in offshore operations, with at least 3 years in a senior or supervisory role.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of offshore production systems, process safety, and risk management. Proficiency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
• Certifications: Relevant offshore safety certificates (e.g., BOSIET, HUET, OPITO) are highly desirable.
• Location: Must be willing to work on a rotational basis at the offshore platform and MGP Plant in Musandam, Oman.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with OQEP or similar operators in the Arabian Gulf region.
• Familiarity with Musandam operations and local regulations.
• Advanced degree or professional engineering certification (e.g., PE, CEng).
