Receiving & Cost Accountant – Hotel Finance Jobs in Amman, Jordan
About the Role
We are hiring a Receiving and Cost Accountant to join a hotel finance team in Amman, Jordan. This role focuses on managing receiving operations, controlling costs, and supporting accurate financial reporting within the hospitality industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and verify all receiving reports to ensure quantities, quality, and pricing match approved purchase orders and invoices.
- Record and reconcile receiving and inventory transactions in the accounting system on a daily basis.
- Collaborate with kitchen, F&B, and procurement teams to control food and beverage costs and reduce waste.
- Review supplier invoices, credit notes, and delivery notes to ensure accurate accounts payable processing.
- Support monthly stock counts, inventory valuation, and variance analysis for hotel outlets.
- Prepare and analyze cost reports, including food cost percentage, beverage cost, and departmental cost performance.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting for hotel operating costs and revenue units.
- Ensure compliance with hotel SOPs, internal controls, and accounting policies.
- Coordinate with external auditors and internal audit teams during audit cycles.
- Maintain organized digital and physical records of all financial documents related to receiving and cost control.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience in hotel finance, preferably in cost control or receiving functions.
- Strong knowledge of hospitality accounting principles, inventory management, and cost analysis.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sun, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems).
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliation.
- Good understanding of stock taking, F&B cost control, and invoice verification processes.
- Ability to work under month-end and year-end closing pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with hotel departments, suppliers, and management.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in 5-star or 4-star hotel finance departments.
- Familiarity with IFRS and local accounting regulations in Jordan.
- Ability to generate cost variance analysis and management reports.
- Knowledge of procurement, store management, and supply chain processes in hospitality.
