Project Director – Interior Fit‑Out (Doha, Qatar)
About the Role
Our client is a leading engineering consultancy based in Doha, Qatar, specializing in high‑end interior fit‑out projects for commercial and institutional clients. The Project Director – Fit‑Out will own the full delivery cycle, from concept through handover, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Direct and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, MEP specialists, and subcontractors.
- Scope Management: Define project scope, deliverables, and milestones; manage changes and variations.
- Schedule & Budget Control: Develop detailed programme and cost plans, monitor progress, and implement corrective actions to meet targets.
- Client & Stakeholder Management: Serve as primary point of contact, provide regular updates, and ensure client satisfaction.
- Quality Assurance: Enforce compliance with Qatar construction standards, health & safety regulations, and internal quality procedures.
- Procurement & Contracts: Oversee tendering, subcontractor selection, and contract administration.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks throughout the lifecycle.
- Reporting: Prepare and present progress reports, financial statements, and performance dashboards.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience delivering high‑end interior fit‑out projects in the GCC or comparable markets.
- Proven track record as a Project Director or Senior Project Manager on projects valued at USD 10 million +.
- Strong knowledge of Qatar construction codes, BIM workflows, and sustainable design practices.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.
- Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; PMP or PRINCE2 certification preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with luxury hospitality, office, or retail fit‑out sectors.
- Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera P6, and Revit.
- Ability to manage multi‑site projects and large multidisciplinary teams.
