Grade 2 Homeroom Teacher – Differentiated Learning & Inquiry-Based Instruction

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Grade 2 Homeroom Teacher to join a dynamic international school in Qatar. This role is ideal for an educator who values cultural diversity, employs differentiated learning strategies, and champions student-led inquiry. Core Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and international standards.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the varied learning needs, abilities, and interests of Grade 2 students.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes respect for diverse cultures.
  • Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
  • Collaborate with grade-level teams, specialists, and support staff to ensure holistic student development.
  • Integrate technology and hands-on activities to enhance learning experiences.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student achievements, challenges, and classroom activities.
  • Participate in professional development, school events, and curriculum planning sessions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification or license appropriate for primary grades.
  • Minimum 2 years of full-time teaching experience, preferably at the primary level.
  • Demonstrated experience in differentiated learning and student inquiry instruction.
  • International teaching experience or a strong commitment to multicultural education.
  • Excellent command of English (both written and spoken).

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) or similar inquiry-based frameworks.
  • Familiarity with modern assessment tools and data-driven instruction.
  • Strong classroom management skills and a positive, student-centered approach.
  • Ability to integrate cross-curricular themes and 21st-century skills into lessons.
  • Knowledge of second language acquisition and ESL strategies.
