About the Mechanical Technician Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our industrial operations in Qatar. The successful candidate will execute preventive and corrective maintenance on critical mechanical equipment across facility installations. This hands-on position involves inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and overhauling pumps, motors, valves, gearboxes, compressors, and piping systems to ensure maximum uptime and operational reliability. As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will directly contribute to equipment longevity and plant efficiency through systematic maintenance practices and rapid response to mechanical failures.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance on rotating equipment including centrifugal pumps, electric motors, and reciprocating compressors
• Perform corrective maintenance and emergency repairs on control valves, gearboxes, and process piping systems
• Inspect mechanical components for wear patterns, misalignment, and excessive vibration using precision measurement tools
• Troubleshoot equipment failures through root cause analysis and implement effective repair solutions
• Overhaul and rebuild pumps, motors, and compressors following OEM specifications and tolerance standards
• Maintain comprehensive maintenance records, work orders, and equipment history in CMMS platforms
• Conduct precision mechanical alignment and dynamic balancing procedures on rotating machinery
• Collaborate with reliability engineers to optimize maintenance strategies and reduce unplanned downtime

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician, Industrial Machinery Technician, or Equipment Maintenance Specialist in heavy industry or oil & gas
• Deep practical knowledge of pumps, motors, valves, gearboxes, compressors, and associated piping systems
• Proficiency in preventive maintenance planning, corrective maintenance execution, and major overhaul procedures
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, schematics, and vendor maintenance manuals
• Hands-on experience with mechanical alignment, vibration analysis, and condition monitoring equipment
• Strong familiarity with hydraulic systems, pneumatic controls, and mechanical seal replacement
• Relevant technical diploma or certification in mechanical engineering technology or industrial maintenance
