ELV Technician

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled ELV Technician to join our technical team in Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems across commercial and residential projects. This role demands hands-on expertise in modern security and communication infrastructure, ensuring all systems operate to the highest standards of performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and configure CCTV surveillance systems including IP cameras, NVRs, and video management software.
• Deploy and program Access Control Systems covering card readers, biometric devices, controllers, and door hardware integration.
• Execute Structured Cabling Systems installation for data, voice, and fiber optic networks following TIA/EIA and ISO/IEC standards.
• Perform end-to-end ELV System Installation & Testing including fire alarm, public address, BMS integration, and intrusion detection systems.
• Conduct system commissioning, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal uptime.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams for accurate implementation.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to meet project timelines and quality requirements.
• Document all installation activities, test results, and as-built configurations for handover packages.
• Adhere to local Qatar regulations, safety standards, and company quality procedures at all times.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience as an ELV Technician or similar role in the GCC region, preferably Qatar.
• Demonstrated proficiency in CCTV Installation, Termination & Configuration across major brands (Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, etc.).
• Hands-on expertise with Access Control Systems (HID, ZKTeco, Honeywell, Schneider, or equivalent).
• Strong background in Structured Cabling Systems (Cat6, Cat6a, fiber optic termination, splicing, and certification testing).
• Comprehensive knowledge of ELV System Installation & Testing methodologies and best practices.
• Ability to use test instruments: cable certifiers (Fluke DSX), OTDR, power meters, multimeters.
• Valid Qatar driving license is preferred.
• Immediate availability or short notice period.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical diploma or certification in Electrical, Electronics, or Telecommunications Engineering.
• Vendor-specific certifications (BICSI, manufacturer training for CCTV/Access Control brands).
• Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) integration and IP networking fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Qatar Civil Defense and Kahramaa requirements for ELV systems.
• Strong communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.

Work Environment

This position involves site-based work across various projects in Qatar. The role requires physical capability for cable pulling, ladder work, and equipment handling. Shift flexibility may be required to support project schedules and emergency maintenance.
