Polisher Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Polisher to perform high-quality automotive paint correction and surface finishing. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in smart paint repairs, color matching, and advanced polishing techniques for automobiles.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform smart paint repairs including touch-up, buffing, sanding, and multi-stage polishing
- Execute color balancing and layering to achieve seamless finish matches
- Clean and prepare surfaces by removing grease, dirt, and contaminants
- Select and mix custom paint colors to achieve exact color matching for vehicle panels
- Apply clear coat and protective finishes to industry standards
- Inspect finished work for defects, swirl marks, or color discrepancies
- Maintain polishing equipment, buffers, sanders, and spray equipment
- Follow safety protocols for chemical handling and ventilation
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience as an automotive polisher, paint correction specialist, or detailer
- Expert knowledge of paint repair techniques: wet sanding, compounding, polishing, glazing
- Strong color theory and color matching abilities using spectrophotometers or visual assessment
- Proficiency with dual-action polishers, rotary buffers, and orbital sanders
- Understanding of paint systems: basecoat/clearcoat, single-stage, ceramic coatings
- Ability to read paint codes and formulate color variants
- High attention to detail and quality control standards
- Physical stamina for standing, bending, and repetitive motion tasks
Experience Requirements
Minimum 2-3 years hands-on experience in automotive refinishing, paint correction, or professional detailing with a focus on paint repair and polishing.
