Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Backend Symfony Developer to join our dynamic development team. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in PHP/Symfony development and will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining robust, scalable backend solutions that power our enterprise-grade software products.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend applications using Symfony framework and PHP
• Architect scalable and secure APIs, microservices, and database structures
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and designers to deliver seamless user experiences
• Write clean, well-documented, and testable code following industry best practices and SOLID principles
• Optimize application performance, manage caching strategies, and ensure database efficiency
• Participate in code reviews, technical planning, and architectural decision-making
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers, providing technical guidance and knowledge sharing
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex backend issues in production environments
• Stay current with the latest Symfony versions, PHP updates, and emerging backend technologies

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in PHP 8.x with deep expertise in Symfony framework (5.x / 6.x / 7.x)
• Solid experience with RESTful API design and development
• Proficiency with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and Doctrine ORM
• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing (PHPUnit, Behat)
• Understanding of message queues (RabbitMQ, Redis) and asynchronous processing
• Knowledge of security best practices including OWASP standards, JWT, and OAuth2
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch, GraphQL, or event-driven architectures
• Contributions to open-source Symfony projects
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
