For the WordPress Developer Who Builds Privacy-First Sites
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for a WordPress developer who sees privacy not as a constraint but as a competitive advantage. You are the developer who insists on clean, compliant code and who understands that every cookie, script, and third-party integration is a trust decision. You don't just build sites; you build digital environments that respect user rights and meet regulatory standards. If you are the person who reads the GDPR guidelines for fun and sees CCPA as a checklist you actually enjoy, this role is for you.
What You'll Own
- Build, customize, and maintain WordPress sites – from themes and plugins to complex integrations – with a focus on privacy and data protection.
- Optimize site performance, security, and compliance with evolving privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, ePrivacy, etc.).
- Implement cookie consent mechanisms, data anonymization, and secure data handling practices.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure every new feature respects user privacy from the ground up.
- Perform regular audits to identify and fix privacy gaps in existing sites.
What You Bring
- Proven experience as a WordPress developer with a strong portfolio of live, privacy-compliant sites.
- Deep understanding of PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and WordPress hooks/filters.
- Hands-on experience with privacy plugins (e.g., Complianz, Cookiebot, WP GDPR) and custom compliance solutions.
- Knowledge of server-side and client-side caching, CDN integration, and security best practices.
- A meticulous eye for detail – you know that a single unsecured script can break a compliance framework.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working remotely or in a team.
What Sets This Role Apart
This is not a typical WordPress role. You will be part of a growing movement that treats user privacy as a core product feature, not an afterthought. You'll have the freedom to architect solutions that set industry standards, and you'll work with a team that values your expertise and your passion. Your work will directly impact how thousands of users experience the web – safely, transparently, and on their terms.
