Senior Monitoring, Evaluation, & Learning Specialist in Tunis – Democracy International

About the Role

Democracy International is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Specialist to join our team in Tunis, Tunisia. This pivotal role involves overseeing and enhancing our program’s impact through robust data collection, analysis, and adaptive learning strategies. As a key contributor to our mission, you will be instrumental in ensuring our projects are effective, efficient, and responsive to evolving needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement comprehensive monitoring and evaluation frameworks for complex programs.
• Lead data collection efforts, ensuring data quality and integrity across all project activities.
• Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, assess performance, and generate actionable insights.
• Develop and deliver regular performance reports to internal and external stakeholders.
• Facilitate learning sessions and workshops to translate M&E findings into program adjustments and strategic improvements.
• Manage MEL databases and ensure compliance with organizational and donor requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and capacity building to program staff on MEL best practices.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Master’s degree in International Development, Public Policy, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning within the international development sector.
• Proven expertise in designing and implementing M&E plans, tools, and methodologies.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, Stata) and data visualization tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience working with USAID or other international donors is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
