About the Role: Specialist Electrical Engineer – Offshore FEED Project
KBR is seeking a highly experienced Specialist Electrical Engineer to join our growing Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team in Abu Dhabi. This pivotal role is integral to a high-profile offshore development project, focusing on the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase. You will be instrumental in ensuring the technical leadership and oversight of all electrical engineering deliverables, working initially within the Contractor’s office in Abu Dhabi before relocating internationally for a 6-8 month assignment in an Asian country FEED location, and subsequently returning to the UAE. This long-term engagement offers a project duration extending to 2028 with potential for extension, offering stability and significant career progression within a leading global organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and oversight for electrical engineering deliverables during the FEED phase of offshore oil & gas projects under Client PMC.
- Ensure electrical system design integrity, compliance with ADNOC standards, and seamless integration with offshore facilities.
- Review and oversee FEED design for electrical systems, including power generation (gas turbines, generators), power distribution (HV/MV/LV systems), substations, switchgear, transformers, UPS, battery systems, and emergency power systems.
- Ensure design complies with relevant industry codes, standards, and KBR’s best practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive project execution.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks related to electrical system design and implementation.
- Participate in technical reviews, HAZOP studies, and other project-related meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, specifically within the offshore oil & gas sector.
- Proven experience in FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) project phases.
- In-depth knowledge of ADNOC standards and offshore electrical systems.
- Familiarity with power generation, distribution, substations, UPS, and emergency power systems.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
