Trackway Engineer Lead Section 2 - SYSTRA Egypt

This senior role focuses on railway infrastructure design, permanent way engineering, and sustainable mobility solutions across major transit projects. The position demands deep expertise in track geometry, ballast design, and rail system integration within multidisciplinary teams.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead trackway design development for railway Section 2 including alignment, geometry, and cross-section detailing
• Coordinate permanent way engineering deliverables across civil, structural, and systems interfaces
• Perform track stability analysis, stress calculations, and thermal expansion assessments
• Review and approve track construction methodologies, quality plans, and inspection protocols
• Manage technical coordination with signaling, electrification, and rolling stock disciplines
• Develop maintenance strategies for track assets including renewal cycles and lifecycle costing
• Ensure compliance with EN 13848, UIC 719, and Egyptian railway standards
• Mentor junior track engineers and conduct design reviews for technical assurance

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Civil Engineering; Master's in Railway Engineering preferred
• 10+ years trackway design experience on mainline, metro, or high-speed rail projects
• Proven lead engineer role on at least two major railway infrastructure schemes
• Advanced proficiency in PAMS, RailSys, or equivalent track design software
• Deep knowledge of track components: rails, sleepers, fastenings, ballast, sub-ballast
• Experience with FIDIC contracts, design-build delivery, and employer's requirements
• Fluent English; Arabic proficiency advantageous for local stakeholder coordination
