Junior Accountant – Kuwait | SAP & Financial Reporting

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our finance team in Kuwait. This role is ideal for early-career accounting professionals who are eager to grow their expertise in financial reporting, bookkeeping, and enterprise accounting systems. You will work closely with senior finance staff to support daily accounting operations, ensure accurate financial records, and contribute to month-end and year-end closing processes.

Core Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
• Perform daily bookkeeping tasks such as journal entries, accounts payable/reconciliation, and bank reconciliations
• Support month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring all entries are accurate and completed on time
• Maintain and update the general ledger in compliance with accounting standards and company policies
• Process invoices, expense reports, and payment vouchers with proper documentation and approvals
• Assist with tax calculations and preparation of tax-related documentation as required by Kuwait regulations
• Utilize SAP or similar ERP systems for data entry, reporting, and financial tracking
• Prepare financial reports and ad hoc analyses for management review
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and local financial regulations in Kuwait
• Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited university
• 1–2 years of hands-on accounting experience in a professional setting
• Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial formulas
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks with accuracy under deadlines
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills
• Good command of English (written and verbal) for professional communication

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SAP (FI/CO modules) or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
• Familiarity with QuickBooks, Tally, or similar accounting software
• Knowledge of Kuwait tax regulations and labor law compliance
• Prior experience in a multinational company or shared services environment
• Professional certification in progress (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or CMA) is a strong plus
